Grillage fraîchement installé/Fence recently put

Au nord du site de la carrière de Mazaugues, un grillage est tout fraîchement installé accompagné par des nouveaux panneaux depuis le vendredi 16 Juillet. Il y a quelques jours cette partie du site était accessible à tous le monde car aucune barrière était mise en place. De plus, cette zone servait à l’entreprise à stocker ses machines. Aujourd’hui, les machines ont disparue et un grillage a été ajouté. On a remarqué la présence d’un camion et d’ouvriers travaillant dans une entreprise paysagiste sur la carrière ce même jour.

On the north side of Mazaugues’ quarry site, a fence has been recently installed along with new signs since Friday July 16th. A few days ago, this part of the site was accessible to everyone because no barrier was in place. Moreover, this area was used by the company to store its machines. Today, the machines have disappeared and a fence has been added. We noticed the presence of a truck and workers working in a landscaping company on the quarry that same day.

La carrière est située à cinq cent mètres d’une usine d’explosifs catégorisée Seveso (instalation industrielle catégorisée dangeureuse). La carrière, qui utilise elle aussi des explosifs, peut faire exploser l’usine provoquant ainsi une catastrophe massive à Mazaugues mettant l’environnement et les humain-e-x-s en danger mortel. De plus, nous avons appris depuis un témoignage direct que les travailleur-euse-x-s n’ont pas le matériel adéqua pour qu’iels se protègent d’un effondrement des mines souterraines. Additionné avec le fait qu’iels n’aient pas la formation nécessaire pour travailler sur un terrain classé Seveso. En somme, les autorités responsables sont incapables de protéger les droits de ses travailleur-euse-x-s dont les vies sont mises en évident danger.

The quarry is located at five hundred meters from an explosive factory categorised Seveso (industrial facility categorised as dangerous). The quarry, which is going to use explosives as well, can trigger an explosion in the factory and thereby provoque a massive catastrophe in Mazaugues putting the nearby environment and humans in mortal danger. Moreover, we have learned from direct communication with the workers on the quarry that they don’t have sufficient material to protect themselves from a possible collapse of the mine underneath. In addition to that the workers don’t have the proper training for working on Seveso ground. In summary, the responsible authorities fail at their duty by not protecting the rights of their workers whose lives are put in immense danger.
